TV BRICS to provide media support for transfer of Chinese university developments

The TV BRICS International Media Network will facilitate the transfer of scientific and technological developments from universities of the People’s Republic of China to the global market. An agreement on joint activities with TV BRICS was signed by the Tan Kah Kee High Technology Research Institute. The signing ceremony took place in Xiamen during a forum dedicated to the development of technological and innovation cooperation among BRICS countries.

The partners intend to work to strengthen the state authority of BRICS participants and to develop international cooperation in higher education, science, and technology. The Tan Kah Kee High Technology Research Institute and TV BRICS will implement media projects and conduct joint events, including scientific conferences, round tables, seminars, and master classes.

Zhang Dianhui, Vice President of the Tan Kah Kee High Technology Research Institute, expressed confidence that, with the participation of TV BRICS, a greater number of scientific developments could be integrated into the Chinese and global economy, industrial cooperation stimulated, and international dialogue among expert communities developed for the exchange of experience and ideas.

The Tan Kah Kee High Technology Research Institute is a newly established research institute created by Xiamen University, the Science and Technology Bureau of Xiamen City, and the People’s Government of the Jimei District. It serves as Xiamen University’s organisation for the transfer and commercialisation of scientific and technological results. The Institute supports the attraction of international innovation resources, the development of university-industry platforms, the growth of science and technology innovation enterprises, and the promotion of the socio-economic development of the region.

“TV BRICS partners with leading universities across the world. This cooperation aims to popularise quality education and scientific achievements in the international media space, promote the BRICS ideology among youth, and develop professional and expert communities. At the same time, direct contact with universities enriches TV BRICS’ innovation and scientific-technological agenda, which remains a thematic priority. In 2024, the media network launched the Laboratorium programme on scientific discoveries in Russia, which has already been viewed in 11 countries across Eurasia, Africa, and South America, reaching a media audience of over 35 million people,” said TV BRICS Executive Producer Kristina Muravyova, representing the media network at the signing ceremony in Xiamen.

Today, TV BRICS’ partners in science and education include more than 30 leading institutions from Russia, Brazil, India, China, South Africa, and Iran, including members of the BRICS Network University, the Indian Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature, the Ministry of Education of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), and the Ministries of Higher Education and Education of Cuba.

In 2025 alone, Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), Kazan Federal University (Russia), the Group for International Cooperation of Brazilian Universities (GCUB), the BRICS Research Center of Fudan University, and Tianjin University of Technology and Education (China) joined cooperation with TV BRICS. In Russia, in the field of international promotion of startups and socio-economic projects, TV BRICS also collaborates with the Russian Export Center, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, and the Federal Centre for the Development of Export of Agricultural Products of the Russian Federation.
