UAE and Uzbekistan expand economic co-operation in many sectors

On the sidelines of the fifth session of the Joint Economic Commission in Tashkent, the UAE and Uzbekistan agreed to develop partnership in new economic sectors

UAE Minister of Economy Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri and Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov confirmed strategic cooperation in the fields of tourism, transport, financial technologies and others.

Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri emphasised the long-term relations between the countries and the growth of economic partnership. Both sides are keen to develop new areas of economy and ensure prosperity for their peoples.

The leaders discussed plans to expand economic ties, including support for small and medium-sized enterprises. The UAE invited Uzbek entrepreneurs to utilise business opportunities in the country. This is reported by
Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.

The countries also agreed to exchange experience in agriculture, food security, digital technologies and other areas. They intend to strengthen economic relations and create new business opportunities.

It is reported that they also discussed opportunities for co-operation in digital technologies in Uzbekistan, development of cloud technologies, development of large language models (LLMs) for Uzbekistan using the existing artificial intelligence infrastructure, as well as foreign proposals for co-operation to develop local talents in language learning.

The event was an important step towards closer cooperation between the UAE and Uzbekistan and creating a favourable environment for economic development in the region.
