UAE gets 18 medals in taekwondo at Gulf Youth Games
The games will continue until 2 May
The First Gulf Youth Games kicked off in the UAE with the team winning 18 taekwondo medals, including four gold medals. The event was held at the Zaida Sports Complex in Fujairah, with more than 3,500 athletes participating in 24 different disciplines.
The games under the slogan “Our Gulf is One… Our Youth is Promising” will conclude on 2 May 2024, promising exciting moments for participants and spectators.
124 athletes competed in the Taekwondo Competition. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Head of the UAE Taekwondo Federation, attended the event with representatives from other Gulf federations. The first day saw 70 intense bouts in 10 weight categories for both genders. This is reported by

The UAE won four gold, 11 silver and three bronze medals on the opening day and topped the overall medals table. Kuwait won 16 medals, including seven gold, Saudi Arabia nine medals (three gold) and Oman five medals (four gold).
