“The UN will be present at the BRICS Summit in South Africa. We are planning to make an announcement probably early next week,” said Farhan Haq at a briefing, as reported by
Trinity Mirror, a partner of TV BRICS.

The upcoming BRICS Summit is scheduled to take place in Johannesburg from 22 to 24 August. It’s expected that Russian President Vladimir Putin will participate in the summit through a video connection.

In the previous month, Naledi Pandor, the Foreign Minister of South Africa, announced that a total of 23 nations had formally indicated their desire to become part of the BRICS alliance. Furthermore, in the month of May, Belarus submitted an application for membership to BRICS.
