
Venezuela’s under-17 women’s volleyball team claimed a historic South American title on Sunday after defeating Brazil in the final of the continental championship held in Lima, Peru. This is reported by

The squad, led by coach Ihosvanny Chambers, secured a straight-sets victory. Team captain Yalesca Colina was the standout performer, scoring 19 points and earning the tournament’s Most Valuable Player award.
With the gold medal, Venezuela also secured qualification for the 2026 U-17 World Championship, due to take place in Santiago, Chile. Brazil and Peru, who finished second and third, also booked their places, alongside host nation Chile.
Venezuelan Vice-President Delcy Rodriguez congratulated the team on social media, hailing the achievement as the country’s first-ever South American championship title in women’s U-17 volleyball.
