A new air route connecting South America with Asia through Russia has been launched, linking Caracas with the Chinese city of Guangzhou with a stopover in Moscow.
According to
teleSUR, a partner of TV BRICS, the service will operate twice a month using large-capacity aircraft and is described by Venezuelan authorities as one of the country’s most important international routes.
The media outlet highlighted that the Caracas–Moscow–Guangzhou connection could be seen as a strategic step in strengthening cooperation between Venezuela, Russia and China, reflecting long-standing political and commercial agreements.
The expansion of air routes has become a practice for BRICS countries to extend their reach in trade and cooperation with other countries.
According to
Brazil’s Ministry of Tourism, Brazil and South Africa are strengthening air connectivity with plans to add more flights between the two countries to boost tourism, trade and bilateral cooperation. Officials say the expanded routes will create new business and employment opportunities, reinforcing the partnership as Brazil prepares to host the COP30 climate summit in November.
Meanwhile, China is planning to inaugurate the world’s longest air route on 4 December, linking Shanghai and Buenos Aires over a distance of 20,000 kilometres, according to
China Daily, a partner of TV BRICS. The new service will cut travel time between the two cities from 30 to 25 hours, marking the first commercial connection between two opposite points on the globe. Part of China’s strategy to expand its international aviation reach, the route highlights the country’s growing presence in South American markets.
