Venezuela promotes training in Regenerative Agriculture to revitalise rural areas
The programme includes workshops on soil restoration, biodiversity, and integrated natural resource management
More than 1,400 agricultural workers from across Venezuela have been trained in Regenerative Agriculture through workshops under the “Training for Trainers” programme, organised by the Ministry of Popular Power for Productive Agriculture and Lands.
The initiative aims to prepare facilitators in each state to spread knowledge about this responsible farming method, according to
Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), a partner of TV BRICS.
The training forms part of the Strategic Plan for Agricultural Development 2022–2025 and the Great Mother Earth Mission, promoted by President Nicolas Maduro to strengthen practices that restore Venezuelan soils.
The workshops cover topics such as soil recovery, biodiversity, and integrated natural resource management, combining local knowledge with new sustainable techniques.
This training process seeks to professionalise agricultural personnel, promote sustainable practices, and ensure food security.
