Venezuelan scientists unveil breakthrough in cancer treatment

The aim is to improve patient outcomes by lowering both drug dosage and radiation intensity

The Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research is developing an innovative project aimed at making breast cancer treatment less aggressive. This was reported by
BRICSLat, a partner of TV BRICS.

The team is working on a novel molecule that combines tamoxifen, a common breast cancer drug, with a gadolinium atom. This new compound is designed to produce a synergistic effect, boosting treatment efficacy while reducing the harmful side effects associated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

The aim is to improve patient outcomes by lowering both drug dosage and radiation intensity, thus enhancing the overall quality of life for those undergoing cancer treatment.

The initiative is part of the Venezuelan government’s broader commitment to public health and scientific progress, combining advanced chemistry and medical innovation to address a pressing health challenge.
