Vietnam has unveiled a vision for the future of its education system, aiming to rank among the world’s top 20 by 2045. This is reported by
Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.
Central to the resolution are ambitious goals for higher education. The plan envisions that 100 per cent of Vietnamese universities will meet national standards, with 20 per cent reaching international benchmarks. Furthermore, the nation hopes to see at least one of its universities ranked among the world’s top 100 in specific fields by 2030.
The reforms extend beyond academic institutions, with a focus on equipping young people with the skills needed for a rapidly evolving world. There are calls for strengthening digital literacy, English proficiency, and artificial intelligence (AI) skills among high school graduates.
The vision also includes a target of 74 per cent of eligible individuals pursuing post-high school education, with a minimum of 35 per cent enrolled in key fields such as fundamental sciences, engineering, and technology.
The reforms also aim to modernise curricula, unify textbooks nationwide, and provide free textbook access by 2030. These measures are designed to enhance Vietnam’s human capital, a crucial step as the country seeks to achieve high-income, innovation-driven growth by the middle of the 21st century.
