Putin answered about 60 questions of the American journalist

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an interview with US journalist Tucker Carlson that the BRICS countries are developing at a very fast pace, said on the official
website of the President of the Russian Federation.

“In 1992, I think the share of the G7 countries in the world economy was 47 per cent, and in 2022 it fell to somewhere around 30 and a bit. The share of the BRICS countries in 1992 was only 16 per cent, and now it’s above the G7 level”

During the interview, the topic of Russia’s trade relations with China was also touched upon. Putin mentioned that trade turnover between the countries has reached record highs.

“We set a goal with my colleague, friend, with President Xi Jinping to reach $200 billion in trade turnover with China this year. And we have exceeded this bar. According to our data, it is already 230 billion dollars, according to Chinese statistics – 240 billion dollars,” said the Russian president.

He added that the trade turnover between the two countries is balanced. The Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China are working to complement each other in the high-tech sphere, energy and scientific developments.
