Vladimir Putin receives New Development Bank President Dilma Rousseff at Kremlin

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with President of the New Development Bank (NDB) Dilma Rousseff in Moscow, as reported on the Kremlin’s
official website.

Rousseff arrived in Moscow to participate in the annual meeting of the NDB Board of Governors. For the first time in 19 years, the event is being held in Russia. The main theme this year is “Development Financing in an Era of Technological Revolution”.

During the meeting, Putin said he was pleased to have the opportunity to discuss the bank’s current activities and future prospects. He noted that Russia now has a new representative at the bank – NDB Vice-President Roman Serov, who assumed his duties six months ago.

Rousseff, in turn, said it was a great honour for her to be in Russia and to meet President Putin once again. She noted that the NDB had been actively working with the Russian side, including Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov and Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Maksim Oreshkin.

“I want to say that it means a great deal to us, and to me personally, to be here now and to have this opportunity to speak with you directly and with members of your team. […] We are also very pleased to say that the Russian Vice President has been extremely helpful in addressing the issues we face,” she said.

Rousseff also conveyed greetings to Putin on behalf of Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

During her visit to Moscow, Rousseff is scheduled to take part in an extensive programme of events. On 14 May, the NDB Flagship Governors Seminar will be held, alongside a number of open thematic sessions devoted to practical aspects of technological development across various sectors. The programme will conclude on 15 May with the official business session of the Board of Governors and a final press conference.
