Vladimir Putin turned 71 years old

Russian President spends his birthday at work

On Saturday, 7 October, Russian President Vladimir Putin celebrates his birthday. The head of state turned 71 years old.

This year the holiday fell on a day off, but the ruler will have a working day. The politician together with the leaders of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Kasym-Jomart Tokayev took part in a solemn ceremony dedicated to the start of Russian gas supplies to Uzbekistan via Kazakhstan, as reported by TASS.

Last year the Russian leader also spent at work – he visited St. Petersburg and held a number of working events, including a meeting of CIS leaders.

Vladimir Putin was born in Leningrad in 1952. He spent his childhood and mature years in the Northern Capital, working for various departments. In the mid-90s, the future head of state moved to Moscow. He was elected President of Russia in 2000.
