The Chinese President has urged the Western Returned Scholars Association to bring together talents from around the world for the development of the country and the CPC. Xi Jinping said this on Saturday in a congratulatory letter to the Western Returned Scholars Association, which is celebrating its 110th anniversary, as reported by China Daily, a partner of TV BRICS.
In his letter, Xi Jinping, on behalf of the CPC Central Committee, expressed warm congratulations and extended sincere greetings to overseas Chinese students and scholars and the workers who provide services to them.
The Chinese President also thanked the association for its contribution to bringing overseas Chinese students and scholars together, urging it to continue to be a talent pool for the country, a think tank for valuable ideas and suggestions, and a vital force for people’s diplomacy.
In the letter, Xi Jinping expressed hope that Chinese students and scholars abroad will preserve and develop patriotic traditions, serve the nation, break new ground and move forward, and develop an open and inclusive approach to promote exchanges between China and other countries.
A meeting to mark the 110th anniversary of the association was held in Beijing on Saturday. Wang Hu-ning, Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the country’s top political advisory body, addressed the event.
