He cited the Great Stone industrial park as one example of successful cooperation between Minsk and Beijing, with the majority of foreign investment in the park coming from Chinese companies. The park is located in the Minsk Region and has the status of a special economic zone.

Aleksander Chervyakov, Belarus’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to China, highlighted the increase in bilateral trade between the two countries, according to
BelTA, a partner of TV BRICS.

“Whilst last year we saw growth of 15 per cent, this year’s trade turnover has already reached US$3.7 billion. That is a 117 per cent increase compared with the same period last year. Moreover, we are seeing very significant growth in exports – up 27 per cent. And I think this is not the limit. […] This is an indicator of competitiveness for our enterprises,” the ambassador remarked.

During the talks, the two leaders also emphasised the importance of a constant exchange of views on the international agenda. Their discussions continued over the traditional family lunch, which goes beyond the bounds of diplomatic protocol and is a sign of the special personal trust between the President of Belarus and the President of the People’s Republic of China.
