Egypt pharmaceutical exports hit US$1.3 billion with US$3 billion target by 2030 | TV BRICS, 22.04.26

Egypt has recorded a significant rise in pharmaceutical exports, reaching approximately US$1.3 billion in 2025, according to the Egyptian Drug Authority. According to MENA, a partner of TV BRICS, the figure marks a notable increase from US$1.079 billion in 2024, reflecting accelerating growth in the country’s life sciences sector.

Officials say exports are expected to climb further to between US$1.6 billion and US$1.7 billion by the end of the current year, with long-term projections targeting US$3 billion by 2030. The expansion forms part of a broader national strategy to position Egypt as a regional hub for pharmaceutical manufacturing and innovation.

Sector development is being supported by ongoing investment in production capacity, research and technological modernisation, aimed at improving efficiency and increasing the global competitiveness of Egyptian pharmaceutical products.

Experts note that continued focus on innovation, export diversification and manufacturing upgrades will be key to sustaining momentum and strengthening Egypt’s position in international pharmaceutical markets.
