Indonesia and Egypt are expanding educational cooperation, with Egypt offering additional scholarship opportunities for Indonesian students, particularly in medicine, engineering and science. President Prabowo Subianto says Indonesia is also seeking to increase student exchanges, university partnerships and joint research with Egyptian institutions, reports ANTARA, a TV BRICS partner.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi says Egypt is ready to welcome thousands of Indonesian students to study at various universities in the country. The two sides are also working to expand academic exchanges, including visits by Egyptian lecturers and teaching staff to Indonesia.
Prabowo says Indonesia aims to improve the educational experience of its students in Egypt, while encouraging greater institutional cooperation. The partnership covers both academic exchanges and joint research, creating opportunities for students and researchers from the two countries to work together.
The expansion comes as Indonesia and Egypt strengthen their strategic partnership across a broader range of sectors. In 2025, the two countries elevated their relations to the level of a strategic partnership, with education and scientific cooperation among the areas of engagement.
