Africa Energy Indaba 2024 opens in South Africa

It aims to promote energy issues at the global level

The exhibition was attended by more than 4000 participants. It was held under the theme “African Energy Transitioning from Aspiration to Action – Delivering a Sustainable and Prosperous Future”.

The event brought together government ministers, investors, industry experts and energy consumers to discuss challenges and find long-term solutions in the energy sector.

There were 156 renowned speakers and over 200 exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge energy technologies and solutions.

South Africa’s Mineral Resources and Energy Minister Gwede Mantashe delivered a keynote address in which he noted that the plan is aimed at a just energy transition from the African continent’s high carbon emissions.

The Minister also emphasised that climate change and energy security are the two main aspects. This is reported by

Africa Energy Indaba is the continent’s premier energy conference and exhibition, promoting investment, trade and innovation in the energy sector across Africa.
