Brazilian Vice President Geraldo Alckmin summarises results of his visit to China

He spoke about the importance of mutual trade and bilateral co-operation between the countries

Brazilian Vice President Geraldo Alckmin summarised the results of his visit to China, emphasising the strength of trade relations between the two countries: over the past 20 years, trade turnover has increased 17 times. The politician drew attention to the fact that in practice, the increase in this indicator means the creation of new jobs and increased income of Brazilians. This is reported by
Brasil 247, a partner of TV BRICS.

Alckmin led a delegation to the 7th Plenary Session of the China-Brazil High-Level Commission on Harmonisation and Cooperation (COSBAN). During his visit to China, the politician said Brazil is encouraging more Chinese enterprises to invest in the South American country.

The two sides intend to strengthen ties in traditional areas of co-operation, expand cooperation in the green economy, and continue to implement the “One Belt, One Road” initiative.

“Recently, the project of a bioceanic corridor from Brazil to Peru, where China is building a port, was approved,” Alkmin said.

China imports Brazilian goods such as soya beans, oil, meat and sugar. The number of meat production facilities in Brazil that send products to the PRC is set to increase to 53.
