Saudi Arabia’s seaport transshipment volume increases by 8 per cent

Annually, more than 27.63 million metric tonnes were transshipped

The Saudi Arabian Ports Authority revealed that this growth outpaced the 25.56 million metric tonnes recorded for the same month in the previous year. This is reported by
Arab News.

The source claims that whereas container imports climbed by 5.30 per cent annually, container exports increased by 13.61 per cent.

851,501 metric tonnes of general cargo, 4,747,750 metric tonnes of bulk freight, and 15.44 million metric tonnes of bulk cargo were carried in total.

Furthermore, there were 56,636 passengers overall, a 35.31 per cent decline in the number of passengers.

According to the source, the Kingdom’s ports have finished a number of infrastructure development projects since the start of 2024 in an effort to boost their operational effectiveness and competitiveness on the regional and global stages.
