Chinese researchers make progress in developing humanoid robots with improved facial expressions

The team plans to extend these capabilities to their application in nursing homes, kindergartens, special education schools, and other settings

Professor Liu Xiaofeng, a professor at Hohai University in east China’s Jiangsu Province, continue to make significant progress in developing humanoid robots with expressive facial expressions.

In their latest study, they presented a new algorithm for creating natural and detailed facial expressions in robots. This is reported by
CGTN, a partner of TV BRICS.

The research aims to improve the emotional interaction between humans and robots. 

This breakthrough aims not only to improve the practical functions of humanoid robots, but also to enhance their emotional value and potential to augment human tasks in a variety of domains.
