
Egypt has welcomed the decision by Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency to open direct air routes from Russia to the international airports of Borg El Arab and El Alamein. This was reported by
Sada El-Balad, a partner of TV BRICS, citing the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs believes that the opening of these new routes reflects the further strengthening of relations between Russia and Egypt, including cooperation in the fields of transport and aviation.
Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency has begun the process of opening routes to Borg El Arab and El Alamein airports on the instructions of the Russian Ministry of Transport.
Russian airlines have already been informed that they may submit applications for permits to operate scheduled flights on these routes. Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency is also prepared to consider applications for charter flights.
The Russian agency has approached the Egyptian Embassy in Moscow with a request to inform the Egyptian authorities and airlines about the possibility of launching new routes.
