Egypt’s Minister of Finance announces launch of digital project to automate property tax system
In a recent statement, Mohamed Maait, Minister of Finance, announced the launch of a new project aimed at developing and automating the property tax system.
The initiative is set to revolutionise citizens’ access to property tax services by making them available online for the first time.
Maait has unveiled a sophisticated electronic platform designed to simplify services and provide information on property tax laws and procedures. This is reported by
Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS.
The project will start by providing online services for tax enquiries, debt payment, invoice verification and online tax payment for high-density properties.
Through digitisation of tax offices and thorough data analysis, citizens will be able to manage their tax payments conveniently by creating an account on a single property tax services platform.
In addition, taxpayers will soon have access to electronic statements of past tax payments, and the project will gradually introduce a unified electronic declaration service covering various types of properties. The platform will also facilitate processes such as applying for tax reliefs and appeals electronically throughout its phased rollout.
