Ethiopian Prime Minister and Brazilian President discuss bilateral relations

After joining BRICS, Ethiopia expects to strengthen co-operation with the South American country

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed held talks with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on bilateral agenda.

“Today, I have the honour to officially welcome Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva during his state visit to Ethiopia. During our talks, we addressed several issues related to the development of bilateral relations,” Ahmed wrote on social media. This is reported by
Prensa Latina, a partner of the TV BRICS.

He specified that after joining BRICS, Ethiopia expects to strengthen co-operation with the alliance. The Ethiopian Prime Minister added that this meeting can be considered an important step towards building a strong partnership”.

The Brazilian President will participate in the 37th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union, which will take place on 17-18 February under the theme “Education for the 21st Century: Building Sustainable Systems to Enhance Access to Inclusive, Quality and Relevant Learning in Africa”.
