Iran’s agriculture industry implements new productivity standards
Technology to be incorporated into agriculture by the Ministry of Agriculture
One topic brought up to increase production and efficiency in the agriculture sector is the use of information and communications technologies. This was reported by
Tehran Times, a partner of TV BRICS.
Officials claim that initiatives like the Internet of Things (IoT) and intelligent irrigation are now in implementation.
The Ministry of Agriculture is reportedly focusing on export output for the current Iranian calendar year, which starts on March 20, 2024.
Currently, Iran exported more than US$1 billion worth of agricultural goods in the preceding calendar year (March 21, 2023–March 19, 2024). This represents increases of 13 per cent and 23 per cent in weight and value, respectively, over the same period the previous year.
