Iran’s exports to China rose by 30 per cent in December 2023

Iran’s exports to China reached $404 million in December 2023

Iran exported US$404 million worth of goods to China in December 2023, compared to only US$311 million in December 2022.

Total trade between Iran and China reached US$14.65 billion in 2023, down 6.2 per cent year-on-year.

China’s exports to Iran increased by 8.6 per cent to US$10.07 billion in 2023. This was reported by
Tehran Times.

China is one of Iran’s main trading partners.

The 25-year strategic partnership plan between Iran and China, which was signed by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at the Iranian Foreign Ministry in March 2021, is in a new phase with new agreements reached by various ministries of both countries.

The documents include agreements in the fields of transport and industry. The agreements cover various joint projects such as the high-speed railway link between Tehran and Mashhad, investment in Iran’s southeastern coast of Mokran and the purchase of Iranian oil.
