Through visits to locations recognised for their high biodiversity and unique ecosystems, students from a variety of disciplines – including biology, ecology, life and earth sciences, agronomy, and environment – have the chance to learn about Tunisia’s flora from a scientific perspective during the yearly Flora Week event. As part of a strategy to preserve the richness of plants and their habitats, the event also offers a hands-on training course on the search and identification of flora as well as the interpretation of terrestrial ecosystems.

Students received training in data processing, mapping, laboratory work, forest surveying, and sampling from university professors and researchers.

This year, Oued Zen National Park was visited by students from several Tunisian universities.

They also went to the National Cork Museum in Tabarka, which was established by the National Research Institute of Rural Engineering, Water, and Forests (INGREF), WWF North Africa, and the Tabarka Institute of Forests and Rangelands.
