Russia and Iran are in the process of building up their partnership

The Russian Foreign Minister and the Iranian President held talks on cooperation⁠

Based on the results of Sergey Lavrov’s participation in the “3+3” format meeting, which took place in Tehran, the Russian Foreign Minister and the Iranian President discussed the possibilities of further development of bilateral partnership within the framework of high-level agreements,
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.

During the discussion, Iran expressed gratitude to Russia for its active role in making decisions on Iran’s full membership in the SCO and BRICS. Both sides emphasized their readiness to make a constructive contribution to the development of these associations through close cooperation in all fields of cooperation.

During the meeting of the second session of the Consultative Regional Platform “3+3”, an in-depth and productive discussion was held on the prospects for cooperation among the countries of the region. Significant potential cooperation in various fields, including trade and economic, transportation and logistics, cultural and humanitarian spheres was noted.

Moreover, during informal meetings between S. V. Lavrov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan D.A. Bayramov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia A.S. Mirzoyan and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey H. Fidan, topical issues on the bilateral and regional agenda were discussed.
