Russian Innopolis University opens an office in China

Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan: “Opening an office in China is an important step in the development of innovative and educational projects”

On the basis of the headquarters of the Russian IT university in Hangzhou, it is planned to promote products and educational services of Innopolis University and the Republic of Tatarstan in the Chinese market and stimulate mutually beneficial trade turnover. The opening ceremony was attended by Roman Shaikhutdinov, Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan, and representatives of the Hangzhou city government. TV BRICS is a partner of
Innopolis University.

Within the framework of co-operation it is planned to supply equipment, robots, electronics and microelectronics from China to Russia. In the educational sphere, the parties are going to solve the tasks of student and academic exchange between Innopolis University and partner universities in China.

Other areas of cooperation include technology export, implementation and promotion of research and technology projects, organisation and participation in exhibitions and forums, adaptation of solutions of Russian IT universities for the Chinese market.

Roman Shaikhutdinov, Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan, representative of the Innopolis University Board of Directors: “The opening of the office in China is an important step in the development of innovative and educational projects of Innopolis University and Tatarstan. We are committed to global academic and innovation mobility, and co-operation with our Chinese colleagues opens up new opportunities for us to exchange knowledge, experience and technologies, which is especially important in the run-up to the BRICS+ summit to be held in Kazan next year.”

Innopolis University already co-operates with three universities in China. In total, the university has 297 leading IT companies in Russia and 48 academic organisations around the world in partnership.

Innopolis University specialises in education, research and development in IT and robotics. In the academic year 2023 / 2024, 1,239 students from 35 countries are studying at Innopolis University. The university has 152 research and teaching staff from 15 countries with work experience in leading foreign universities and companies in the global IT industry.
