Russian President and foreign guests lay flowers at Tomb of Unknown Soldier



They honoured the memory of the fallen defenders with a minute of silence

Russian President Vladimir Putin and foreign leaders arriving in Moscow to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory Day laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier by the Kremlin wall.

At the end of the Victory Day Parade on Red Square, the Heads of State and Government went to Aleksandrovsky Garden, where they observed a minute of silence at the Eternal Flame in memory of the fallen defenders.

A wreath as wide as the foot of the memorial, intertwined with St. George’s ribbons, was prepared for laying. The participants of the ceremony also received a bouquet of red roses from the hands of the soldiers of the guard of honour, by laying them they honoured the memory of the Unknown Soldier.

The ceremony ended with a ceremonial march of the combined guard of honour.

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, Ethiopian President Taye Atske-Selassie, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, Belarusian President Aleksander Lukashenko, Kazakh Leader Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and others arrived in Moscow to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory in 2025.
