South Africa is to host the 2024 SADC Media Awards competition for journalists

The competition is open to countries of the South African Development Community (SADC)

The South African media has the opportunity to participate in the 2024 SADC Media Awards in various categories, including photography, print journalism, television journalism, and radio journalism.

As stated on the official website of the
South African government, journalists from member countries of the South African Development Community (SADC) can enter this prestigious competition.

The SADC, which consists of 15 countries including Angola, Botswana, DRC, Lesotho, Mauritius, Madagascar, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, aims at promotion of regional cooperation and integration.

Established in 1996, the SADC Media Awards were designed to acknowledge and reward exceptional work by media outlets disseminating information about the SADC region.

By recognizing the achievements of journalists in print, photography, television and radio, these awards actively contribute to fostering regional integration and cooperation.
