Iran is preparing for the third international
TechOlympics 2026 technology competition, which will take place from 2 to 5 November 2026 at the Pardis Technology Park. During the preliminary stages, the organisers received over 13,000 registrations, including 3,691 international applications from 109 countries. Compared with last year, the number of international registrations has more than doubled. The TV BRICS International Media Network is the event’s information partner.
Participants will compete in six categories: Programming, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Internet of Things, Combat Robotics, and Drones. Programming attracted the most interest, with over 4,800 registrations. Just over 3,500 applications were for artificial intelligence and 2,800 for cybersecurity.

In an exclusive comment for TV BRICS, the Secretary of TechOlympics, Sajjad Abbasi Fashami, noted the high level of interest in the cybersecurity competitions. According to him, 1,036 international teams from 103 countries have registered in this category.
“The strong global response underscores the growing importance of cyber resilience, digital sovereignty, and cross-border cooperation in addressing emerging technological threats,” he emphasised.
The organisers are paying particular attention to the participation of BRICS countries. As Abbasi Fashami noted, the wide geographical spread of applications reflects the group’s growing role in the international dialogue on technology, innovation and cybersecurity.
“Teams from BRICS member states are expected to bring diverse professional experience and national perspectives to the competition, strengthening exchanges between experts, developers, researchers, and young technology talents,” he added.
The international presence at the technology competition continues to expand. Whilst in 2025 foreign participants registered in only three categories, this year they have registered in all six. The recruitment of international specialists was facilitated, amongst other things, by a network of 12 official TechOlympics representatives across eight countries.
TechOlympics is organised by Iran’s Vice-Presidency for Science, Technology and the Knowledge-Based Economy, and the Pardis Technology Park. The competition helps to identify talented specialists in the field of technology, giving them the opportunity to test their skills and forge professional connections. The organisers aim to engage participants in developing solutions to real-world problems. TechOlympics has been held annually since 2024.
