Thailand forecasts 17.8% export growth in 2026 on demand for electronics and AI

Thailand’s exports are forecast to grow by 17.8 per cent in 2026, reaching US$400 billion. Demand for electronic products and technologies related to artificial intelligence (AI) is supporting the country’s export performance. In 2027, shipments are projected to increase by a further 7.4 per cent to approximately US$430 billion. This was reported by Thai PBS, a partner of TV BRICS.

Experts highlighted exports as a key driver of Thailand’s economic growth. The country is also seeking to benefit from global investment in AI and data centres, with its infrastructure, regulatory framework, supply chains and workforce offering potential to support the development of data centre facilities in Southeast Asia.

Thailand’s gross domestic product (GDP) is forecast to grow by 2.2–2.5 per cent in 2026, with growth potentially reaching 3 per cent in 2027. The outlook will depend in part on the implementation of economic measures, efforts to strengthen confidence and the attraction of new investment, including capital from overseas.

The country also expects to welcome between 31.5 million and 32 million international tourists in 2026. Alongside tourism, export development and investment in emerging technologies are expected to remain important areas of economic activity as Thailand pursues further growth.
