The authorities of Iran’s Mazandaran Province will set a long-term tourism development plan

It will aim at improving the quality of tourism services in Mazandaran province and preserving the cultural and historical values of the region

Hossein Izadi, the head of the tourism department of Iran’s northern province of Mazandaran, said that a comprehensive tourism development plan is under preparation.

Mazandaran, one of Iran’s natural and cultural gems, attracts millions of domestic travellers with its diverse landscapes and rich heritage.

According to the officials, the launch of this comprehensive plan shows the desire to improve the tourism experience for both domestic and international travellers.

It aims at enhancing the quality of tourism services in Mazandaran province and preserving the cultural and historical values of the region. The project includes upgrading accommodation facilities, creating interesting tourist centres, promoting local arts and crafts and offering a variety of tours to explore unique attractions. The new plan is supposed to attract two million international travellers per year.

More than 800 registered historical and cultural sites, 338 kilometres of coastline, waterfalls and caves are the province’s main tourist attractions. This is reported by
