The Vietnamese city of Da Nang is implementing environmental standards in the tourism sector to boost its appeal to international visitors and preserve its natural heritage. This was reported by Vietnam News Agency (VNA), a partner of TV BRICS.
Hotels and other tourist facilities are implementing environmental standards that focus on saving water and electricity, the careful use of resources and waste reduction.
The city is also carrying out cleanup operations on its beaches, the Son Tra Peninsula and the Cham Islands. To preserve the coral reefs, volunteers are collecting rubbish from the seabed. As part of one environmental initiative, residents can exchange waste for plants.
Furthermore, Da Nang is developing tourist itineraries that introduce visitors to local traditions, crafts and cuisine.
