The 10th BRICS Conference, marking the 20th anniversary of the group and the reform of global governance, will take place from 26 to 30 October 2026 in Brazil. The event is organised by the BRICS Studies Group of USP (GEBRICS-USP). The TV BRICS International Media Network will act as the event’s international media partner.
The conference will be held under the title “BRICS+ and 20 Years of Global Governance Reform”. It will bring together researchers, diplomats, students and anyone interested in international relations and the role of BRICS+ in the modern world.
The programme will feature ten thematic panels. Participants will discuss global governance, the energy transition, international trade, development finance, international security, culture and digital sovereignty. Evgeniya Syrova, TV BRICS International Projects Coordinators, is scheduled to give a lecture on the group.
As noted by Lucas Enriquez Rocha, coordinator of the BRICS Study Group at the University of Sao Paulo, the organisers aim to make knowledge about the group accessible not only to experts but also to a wider audience. “We very much hope that this event will serve as a platform for exchanging ideas and knowledge about the group and will enable attendees to broaden their horizons,” he emphasised.
Jornadas do BRICS (“BRICS Days”) are annual academic conferences organised by GEBRICS at the Faculty of Law of the University of Sao Paulo. They focus on BRICS activities and current international issues. The meetings bring together researchers to exchange knowledge and strengthen the academic capacity of the BRICS+ countries.
This year’s conference marks the 20th anniversary of the first informal meeting of representatives from the group’s member states, which took place in New York in 2006. The event will be held entirely online. Participation is free of charge, and the broadcast will be available on GEBRICS’ social media channels.
