Vladimir Putin instructs to expand Russia’s international co-operation in the field of medicine

The Russian leader gave orders following the results of the Future Technologies Forum and a meeting with scientists

Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed to expand international cooperation in medicine and increase the number of medical research centres in the country. He also called on the government and the Russian Foreign Ministry to analyse interaction with foreign specialists in the field of nuclear medicine. This is reported by the official
website of the President of the Russian Federation.

“The government together with the Russian Foreign Ministry during the summit of the BRICS interstate association in Kazan to consider issues related to the organisation of long-term joint cooperation of relevant scientific centres in the development of nuclear medicine, including the development and introduction of radiopharmaceutical drugs,” the list of instructions of the head of state reads. This document was signed after the Forum of Future Technologies and the meeting of the President with scientists.

By July 1, the Cabinet of Ministers should consider issues of support for scientific research in the field of molecular diagnostics of allergies and the development of vaccines produced using genetic engineering methods, as well as the establishment of non-financial measures to support the creation and development of private research centres, providing the production and introduction of high-tech products.

The head of the Cabinet of Ministers should report by September 1 on ensuring the development of international cooperation in the field of medicine, education and increasing the number of joint scientific studies, as well as on expanding scientific internship programmes for Russian and foreign students and specialists.
